Doctor, aide killed in gun attack

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines – A doctor and his bodyguard were gunned down at a clinic in Cotabato City yesterday.

Eye specialist Sajid Sinolinding and Mohammad Esmael died at the scene. The brother of Sinolindin, Kadil Jr., is the health secretary of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Initial investigation showed the gunman, who posed as a cataract patient, shot Sinolinding and then fired at Esmael. An investigation is underway.
