Magnitude 3.8 quake hits Cebu
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Tuesday afternoon reported a magnitude 3.8 earthquake that shook the province of Cebu.
The tremor with an epicenter traced 8 kilometers south west of Carmen, Cebu occurred at 2:52 p.m.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City; Talisay, Consolacion, Liloan and Carmen, Cebu; Intensity II in Catmon, Cebu and Intensity I in Poro, Cebu.
The quake had a depth of 28 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
On Tuesday, Phivolcs also recorded two other earthquakes. The first one was a magnitude 3 tremor in Upi, Maguindanao and a magnitude 2.9 in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.
Phivolcs said that there were no casualties, damages or aftershocks expected from the recorded earthquakes.
