Village chief slain, driver hurt in ambush

CAMARINES NORTE, Philippines – A village chairman was killed while his driver was wounded when two motorcycle-riding gunmen waylaid them in Uson town, Masbate Monday afternoon.

Vicente Hugo of Barangay Arado was killed at the scene while his driver Marlon Bon was brought to a rural health clinic for treatment of a bullet wound in the leg.

Police have yet to identify the suspects and determine the motive for the attack.
