Meat trader shot dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – An unidentified gunman who posed as customer shot dead a businessman inside a market in Agoncillo town in Batangas, yesterday.

Jerry Marquinez, 45, a meat trader, died while being treated at the Batangas Provincial Hospital, according to Senior Inspector Philip Aguilar, town police chief.

The gunman fled on a motorcycle toward the town proper.

Aguilar said his men have yet to determine if business rivalry was the motive for the killing.

Police recovered seven slugs for a caliber .45 pistols at the crime scene.
