Biazon steps up drive vs oil smuggling

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon has directed his men to step up their drive against oil smuggling.

Biazon cited the need to enhance information gathering to monitor the illegal activities of the smugglers and eventually thwart oil smuggling in the country.

Biazon gave assurance that he would remain focused on measures and initiatives aimed at identifying the smugglers and curtailing their illegal trade.

Last March 23, Biazon personally checked the unloading of diesel oil from an oil tanker in Mariveles, Bataan to ensure that oil discharge procedures were strictly observed and the oil importation was properly taxed.
