Video of student berating guard goes viral

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  A video of a female student berating a female security guard at the Light Rail Transit 2 - Santolan Station has been making the rounds in social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, drawing a slew of mixed responses from Filipino netizens.

In a video titled "THE RUDE PASSENGER" posted on Tuesday by a certain Gregory Paulo Llamoso, the student is seen asking the guard if she is accusing her of being a liar.

"So now, youre making me look like a liar? So I'm a liar. So you're telling me that I'm a liar. I'm a liar? I'm a liar? Answer me, I'm a liar?" the student, which netizens identified as Paula Jamie Salvosa, told the guard in an apparent confrontation.

The student also told the guard that she managed to get an education and that she's just returning the favor because of the guard's supposed rudeness.

Llamoso, in his description of the video, said a bystander told him that the guard reprimanded Salvosa for taking the wrong entrance to the train station.

"... [P]inuntahan ko na lang 'yung head ng security and suggested na dalhin sa office 'yung babaeng nagwawala, hindi in public, nagkaroon tuloy ng scandal dun na really an unacceptable behavior," Llamosa said.

A Twitter account with the student's name and username @paulaharlow has been live early morning on Wednesday, with the first tweet saying "Haters gonna hate!"

A few tweets later, @paulaharlow said: "Ginagawa lang naman niya ang trabaho niya as lady guard. Pero sana nasa tama. If she asked me in a proper way e di sana walang gulo."

"I just want her to learned (sic) her mistake para di na maulit sa ibang passengers yung ginawa niya sakin. Sana maging lessons 'to sa lahat," @paulaharlow added.

Some citizens, however, did not appreciate the student's behavior in the video, and have resorted to calling her AMALAYER, a corrupted version of "I'm a liar," referring to the manner she spoke in the video.

As of this posting, AMALAYER is at the top of Philippine trending topics on Twitter.

"You can never buy class, and breeding is not for sale," said @dexterbalita, referring to the student.

On the other hand, @paulaharlow also had her share of supporters who agreed with what she did.

"I also have issues with some body (sic) guards back in college. I can feel you at some point. Guards should be respectful," @jayar_tugpak told @paulaharlow.
