DSWD programs help 30,000 families

MANILA, Philippines - Over 30,000 families nationwide have benefited from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s livelihood and community development programs last year.
In 2010, there were 662 projects established under the Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran program, benefiting 12,942 families nationwide, the DSWD said in its year-end report.
The DSWD said P63,369,300 has been released as seed capital for the livelihood projects.
