'13 Going 30' reboot in development, Jennifer Garner to executive produce
MANILA, Philippines — A reboot of the Jennifer Garner romantic comedy "13 Going on 30" is in development by streaming platform Netflix.
The planned reboot will see "My Lady Jane" star Emily Bader in the lead role with her "People We Meet on Vacation" director Brett Haley at the helm.
"'13 Going on 30' is one of those rare, perfect films," Haley said in a statement. "I'm a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility."
Acting opposite Hader is Logan Lerman, best known for his roles in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Bullet Train," "Only Murders in the Building," "Fury," "Noah," "The Three Musketeers," "Hunters," "We Were the Lucky Ones," "Jack & Bobby" and two "Percy Jackson" movies.
Actress and filmmaker Hannah Marks will write the screenplay with revisions by Flora Greeson, who is currently working on a third "Princess Diaries" film.

Garner and Marks will serve as executive producers with Donna Roth and Susan Arnold. RK Films and Revolution Studios have boarded as producers.
The original film from 2004 sees a teenager Jenna Rink waking up as a 30-year-old (Garner) and navigating adulthood, including mending her relationship with best friend Matt (the adult version played by Mark Ruffalo).
"13 Going on 30" grossed $96 million (P5.8 billion) against a $37 million (P2.23 billion) budget and over the years became a cult classic in the romantic-comedy genre.
A stage adaptation debuted in the United Kingdom last year with Garner also executive producing that project.
