Australian loses $6,000 to snatcher

MANILA, Philippines – A 63-year-old Australian man with a disability lost $6,000 and gadgets to a snatcher in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday morning.

Wayne Dumschat said he and his and Filipina wife were walking out of the Florida Bus terminal at the intersection of Lacson Avenue and España street when a man grabbed his sling bag shortly before 5 a.m.

Dumschat, who uses crutches, told police he tried to ask for help from the people in the area but no one came to his aid.

He went to the Manila Police District’s general assignment and investigation section to file a complaint, but could not give the description of the snatcher.
