1 caught in San Juan drug bust

MANILA, Philippines –  Police arrested a scion of a prominent San Juan City family during a drug bust Wednesday.

Earl William Tan Uy, 22, whose family owns a gasoline station and a food chain, told police his “parents are rich but I’m not. I’m into this on my own.” He was nabbed for selling 25 grams of shabu for P100,000, but police found during a search of his Suburban Forester a sachet of cocaine, around 200 grams of shabu, 187 ecstasy tablets, 20 Valium tablets, a stun grenade and a .40 caliber Glock automatic pistol.

Uy was charged with illegal possession and sale of illegal drugs before the San Juan City prosecutor’s office.
