Man stabbed by wife over power bill

-

MANILA, Philippines - A 65-year-old man, with a knife protruding from his chest, staggered to his neighbor’s house in Barangay San Roque, Quezon City Thursday morning and said his wife stabbed him during an argument over their electricity bill.

Manuel Factora died at around 2 p.m. the same day at the Quirino Memorial Hospital.

Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, head of the Homicide Investigation Section of the Quezon City Police District, said Factora even managed to pull the kitchen knife from his chest and give it to the neighbor as evidence. “It was practically a dying declaration that became the basis for the arrest effected by village watchmen,” he said.

Factora’s wife, Vivian, 43, told police the argument happened because she had spent the money supposed to be for the electric bill on other things needed at the house. – Reinir Padua
