Four teenagers lost valuables to robbers

CEBU, Philippines - Close to P15,000 worth of valuables and cash were lost to two robbers who held four teenagers at gunpoint past 1:00 a.m. yesterday while waiting for a jeepney in Compostela town.

Gellane Dico, 18, of Barangay Cogon, Cordova town; Bianca Catingub, 18; Jomary Sanchez, 18; and Christian Halang, 18; of Barangay Pitogo, Consolacion town reported to the police station after the incident.

Police Officer 3 Michael Magallon said in an interview that based on the report prepared by the duty police officer, the victims were standing in front of a beach resort in Sitio Aggies, Barangay Poblacion, Compostela town to wait for a ride.

The police said the tandem who were riding a motorcycle suddenly arrived in front of the four teenagers.

One man pulled and pointed a gun at the victims and declared hold up while telling them to hand over their mobile phones and other belongings.

The robbers took away two mobile phones worth P8,000, DVD player worth P2,100 and cash worth P3,000.  — Bryner L. Diaz/JRS (FREEMAN)
