CEBU, Philippines - One died and two others were injured yesterday afternoon in a vehicular accident at the national highway in sitio Puntod, barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla town involving a motorcycle and a bus.

Baby Boy Racaza Navarro, 42, single and resident of barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, was walking along the road when he was hit by the motorcycle and ran over by the bus around 2:10 p.m.

Navarro was no longer taken to hospital due to severe head injuries.

A Yamaha Sniper motorcycle bearing plate number OW 5749 driven by Raffy del Soccorro, legal age, of barangay Poblacion, was heading towards Cebu City when it accidentally sideswept Navarro.

A Ceres bus, bearing plate number GXW 515 and driven by Roberto Gimena, of barangay Lahug, Cebu City, was also tailing the motorcycle as it happened.

SPO1 Florante Capangpangan, traffic investigator, told The FREEMAN that Navarro was first hit by the motorcycle causing him to be thrown a few meters away on the road due to the strong impact.

Del Soccorro and his passenger, Rio Alfante, 37, of barangay North Poblacion, San Fernando town were thrown to the road.

Capangpangan said Gimena did not immediately notice the accident, and ran over Navarro.

“Grabe ang ulo kay napisat man gud unya nagkatag ang utok sa dalan,” Capangpangan said in a phone interview.

Gimena surrendered to the police.

Del Soccorro and Alfante were taken to the Minglanilla District Hospital.

Gimena and del Soccorro will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injury. (FREEMAN)
