Carpenter, 40, held for “rape”
CEBU, Philippines - A forty-year-old man, who worked as a carpenter at irregular intervals, was arrested yesterday afternoon at his residence in sitio Lukot, barangay Sabang in Danao City on the strength of an arrest warrant for rape.
Victor Rondina was arrested by a team led by Casuntingan police station chief P/Insp. Jimmy Fortes, which walked three hours to get to Rondina’s place.
He was charged with rape by his live-in partner who learned that Rondina would molest her daughter while she was away.
She alleged the molestation started when the child was still seven years old but learned about it when the girl was already 10 years old.
She claimed she caught him in the act.
Fortes said Rondina, who did not resist arrest, did not know a rape case had been filed against him.
He is now detained at the Casuntingan police station pending the filing of charges against him. (FREEMAN)
