Aboitiz group renews commitment to support education initiatives

CEBU, Philippines - The Aboitiz Foundation Inc. and the Department of Education yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

Through it, the foundation has reaffirmed its promise and commitment to support DepEd’s effort to improve the public education in the country.

Aboitiz foundation president Jon Ramon Aboitiz and DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro signed the MOU which was done at the Convention Center of the J Centre Mall in Mandaue City during the seventh annual “Intervention in Education” program of the foundation.

Through the MOU, the foundation assures continuous efforts in providing assistance to public schools by constructing more school buildings, extending assistance to teachers, and other forms of support.

The MOU signing was witnessed by executives of the Aboitiz group, Deped, local officials, and other various stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Aboitiz foundation’s “Intervention in Education Program” is now on its seventh year.

It has gathered students, teachers, and parents who have benefited from the foundation’s commitment to ensure a better future for the youth and the communities where Aboitiz group of businesses operate.

During the event, scholars gave testimonies on how the foundation has fulfilled its mission in helping people help themselves and has provided them with opportunities that could ensure them of a brighter future. (FREEMAN)
