"Rapist" arrested

CEBU, Philippines - A suspected rapist was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his residence in Olango island on the strength of two warrants of arrest signed by Judge Wilfredo Navarro of the RTC Branch 53 in Lapu-Lapu City.

Marcelino Malinao, Jr., alias Tagalog, 54, was arrested by men from the police station 1.

One warrant was for two counts of sexual assault while the other was for rape charges. His accusers are all minors.

PO2 Mark Anthony Zamora of the Olango Police precinct said Malinao's wife attempted to prevent the police from picking up her husband and insisted he was innocent.
