Talisay SP pampering public market vendors

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council last Tuesday approved a proposed resolution which asks Mayor Socrates Fernandez to extend until December this year the free-rent-of-stalls arrangement at the new Lagtang Market.

Fernandez has already granted all vendors free rent for their first three months, which was approved by the council last June 7.

But Vice Mayor Alan Bucao, who is the proponent of the measure, said another month won't harm the city government, and this would also give more time to the vendors to adjust to the new market.

The transfer took effect last August 29.

"Para masulit pud sa mga vendor ang extension samtang nag-adjust pa sila. Basin diay by December, katong hinay ra og sales, makabawi na," the vice mayor, in an interview, said. - THE FREEMAN
