MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) received the highest satisfaction rating and remained the most trusted among government agencies included in a survey conducted by the OCTA Research group.
Results of the non-commissioned survey conducted from March 11 to 14 found that 84 percent of the respondents were satisfied with DepEd’s performance in the first quarter of the year.
Only two percent were dissatisfied with the education agency, while 14 percent were undecided.
Following DepEd were the Department of Health (DOH) with 80 percent, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) with 77 percent, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) with 73 percent and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with 72 percent.
The CHED welcomed the high trust ratings given by the public to the agency.
CHED Chairman J. Prospero de Vera III said the public’s trust drives the agency to keep intensifying its efforts to serve the youth and all higher education institutions.
CHED has consistently been among the top five government agencies in the performance and trust rating of OCTA in the four quarters of last year.
Meanwhile, in terms of trust, DepEd also received the highest rating with 82 percent. Only two percent distrusted the agency, while 16 percent were undecided.
It was followed by DSWD (79 percent), DOH (79 percent), CHED (73 percent) and DPWH (71 percent). – Neil Jayson Servallos
