Palace releases new list of President Marcos appointees

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang announced yesterday President Marcos’ latest appointees in several agencies, including the Department of Education (DepEd) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Marcos named Michael Wesley Poa and Sunshine Charry Fajarda as DepEd undersecretary and assistant secretary, respectively, the Presidential Communications Office said in a Facebook post. Poa currently serves as the agency’s spokesperson.

Maria Blanca Kim Lokin was also appointed as DTI undersecretary as well as Teodoro Gatchalian as undersecretary at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Marcos likewise designated Anthony Alcantara as special envoy on transnational crime, under the Office of the President.

The President also named former Lanao del Sur representative Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman as the new administrator of the Bataan Freeport Authority.

He also appointed Police Brigadier General Eugenio Paguirigan as director IV at the Office of Transportation Security under the Department of Transportation. Paguirigan was the former head of the Internal Security Operations Division of the Philippine National Police.

The President also named Avelino Caraan Jr. and Shirley Vicoy-Yorong as board members at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority of the Department of Labor and Employment.

Annabelle Ploteña, on the other hand, was named acting member of the board of directors of the Southern Philippines Development Authority.

The other appointees were Ronald Cabute, Nelson Cañete and Ma. Victoria Deypalubos, all as director II at the National Telecommunications Commission; Maria Lourdes Saluta as director III of the Tariff Commission, and Romela Ratilla as director IV of DOST.
