MANILA, Philippines — Consumers will see lower prices of cooking gas for the third consecutive month in July.

In an advisory, Petron Corp. said it will implement a P3.40 per kilo reduction in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices effective 12:01 a.m. today.

Meanwhile, it said AutoLPG prices will likewise be lowered by P1.90 per liter.

“These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of July,” Petron said.

Other LPG retailers have yet to announce their respective price adjustments.

Local retailers track the price benchmark set by Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco, at the start of every month.

For July, Saudi Aramco lowered its contract prices for propane from $430 a ton to $375, and slashed its butane prices from $415 a ton to $355 a ton.

Prior to this adjustment, prices of LPG tanks ranged between P539 and P716, based on data from the Department of Energy.
