No classes in areas of Luzon as 'Salome' maintains strength

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Salome has maintained strength and is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning, Pagasa said Friday morning.
In its 5 a.m. Severe Weather Bulletin, Pagasa said the storm was 55 kilometers southwest of Subic, Zambales as of early Friday morning and had maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. Salome is moving west northwest at 20 kph.
The storm is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain within a diameter of 250 kms and residents of Central and Southern Luzon are advised to watch out for flash floods and landslides.
As of Friday morning, storm signals were raised over the following areas:
