Malaysian police helping PNP track down Espinosa

Jaime Laude - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Royal Malaysian police are now helping the Philippine National Police (PNP) track down suspected Eastern Visayas drug lord Rolando “Kerwin” Espinosa Jr.

PNP chief Director General Roland dela Rosa said yesterday they have provided their Malaysian counterparts vital information, including photographs of the young Espinosa.

As per immigration records of Malaysian authorities, the young Espinosa is still in their country.

“Kerwin has not exited (Malaysia), only some members of his entourage, including his children and their nannies, have left the country,” Dela Rosa said in radio interview.

No less than the Espinosa patriarch, Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., tagged his son Kerwin in the illegal drug trade and called for his surrender.

But instead of showing up at Camp Crame, Kerwin has remained in hiding.

“Maybe there is truth to reports that he had indeed changed his facial looks. Maybe he now looks like a woman,” Dela Rosa said.

President Duterte earlier tagged the Espinosas as among drug suppliers in Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas.

However, the elder Espinosa, who showed up at Camp Crame to clear his name, denied involvement in the illegal trade.
