PhlPost prints special V-Day stamps

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Love thoughts sent through mail would be extra special with a Valentine’s Day stamp placed on the letter.

The Philippine Postal Corp. (PhlPost) recently printed 55,000 pieces of the special Valentine’s Day stamp, which sells at P10 each.

The stamps bear the endearing Filipino words “Mahal Kita!“ and other pictures showing affection such as a man offering flowers to a woman, a serenade, and giving love letters to a special someone.

Another design shows lovebirds carrying a rose and a letter.

PhlPost said a student of the St. Stephen High School, Jamia Mei Tolentino, designed the stamps, which were available since Jan. 27.

Tolentino was the winner of an on-the-spot stamp design contest held in November last year at select Robinsons malls nationwide.
