Joey Ayala gives different take on piracy

MANILA, Philippines - Joey Ayala gives a different take on piracy for he believes that it has helped to bring back the life of the music industry.

"Ngayon dahil marami ng piracy, pasalamat din tayong musicians, pasalamatan natin ang piracy kasi bumabalik ang relevance natin as live performers," he explained on Tuesday, during the presscon of Fusion: The 1st Philippine Music Festival.

Ayala thinks that technology made the people appreciate live performances again.

"Let's thank technology for making people jaded," he stated. "Sawa na sila sa download, sawa na sila sa electronic buying, buhay na naman ang live."

In connection to this, Ayala calls on the public, especially the youth to support live concerts and music festivals like Fusion "who really take the risks on live performances."

Fusion is an all-OPM music festival where OPM artists and bands of different genres unite for one night of non-stop Filipino hit music. Some of the artists that will participate in the music festival are Sarah Geronimo, Pupil, Rico Blanco, Wolf Gang, Kamikazee, Parokya ni Edgar, Ebe Dncel, Gloc 9 and Andrew E.

Fusion: The 1st Philippines Music Festival will happen on Jan. 30, 2015 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Tickets are available through Ticketworld, Ticketnet, and SM Tickets for P1,000 for VIP and P300 for general admission.
