Kathryn Benardo dedicates Madame Tussauds statue to OFWs

MANILA, Philippines — Box-office Queen Kathryn Bernardo hopes that she can somehow make OFWs happy when they see her wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong.
The Kapamilya superstar still can't believe that she now has her own wax figure to grace Madame Tussauds.
For Kathryn, this is not only a career achievement but also a testament to her many years of hard work, sacrifice and support of her fans.
“I’m just happy, and today I am just really, really grateful. I feel really happy because all my fans are here. It’s been a busy, busy month for me and this is very rewarding," she told members of the media during the launch in Makati.
“All the hard work we put, it really pays off, and this wax figure is one of the evidence of that hard work. Kanina I was a bit emotional, sentimental. Because looking at it, it wasn’t an easy ride. People get to see just the Kathryn on camera and all, but in order for this to be possible, it’s the fans that made it possible. It was a lot of hard work, challenges and the lot," Kathryn said.
“Maganda siyang gift for the fans. Actually, this is not my milestone but our milestone because this wouldn’t be possible without them. This is for you guys. Sana they’ll create a lot of good memories and sana looking at the wax figure, especially for the fans, it’s a nice moment to take a pause para balikan ‘yung journey na pinagdaanan namin to get to this moment," she added.
Meanwhile, her “Kath-twin” wax figure is also a great gift for Kathryn's supporters from all over the world, especially for OFWs in Hong Kong, where it will be displayed.
“Joy will be there in Hong Kong very, very soon. Hong Kong will always have a special place in my heart. We shot Hello, Love, Goodbye there and that project made a big, big impact in my career. We created Joy there. I have so many memories there. We stayed for a month there and the rest is history,” Kathryn said.
“Aside from that of course, we have all our kababayans in Hong Kong, a lot of our OFWs. I think it just the perfect place to put my ‘Kath-twin’ kasi they don’t get to go home naman too often, so at least we get a piece of the Philippines there. I hope I’ll be able to bring a smile sa mga ‘di nakakauwi nating mga kababayan,” she added.
Aside from Kathryn, other Filipino celebrities who have wax figures at Madame Tussauds are Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Catriona Gray, Anne Curtis and Lea Salonga.
