As cliché as this might sound, these are Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Benedix Ramos’ encouraging words for artista wannabes, as he becomes one of the hosts of Bida Star’s new season alongside PBB alums Karina Bautista and Anji Salvacion. Dubbed as Bida Star Versus, the show is set to premiere on Sept. 5 on ABS-CBN Star Hunt’s Kumu and Facebook accounts.

“At my age, I never really thought that I’d still be here in this (entertainment) industry. I really exerted an effort and sacrificed a lot of things just to be here,” revealed Benedix, 22, who was introduced as Ang Streamboy Apo ng Pangasinan when he joined PBB Kumunity Season 10. “It really means so much to me that I’m finally here. I couldn’t believe that I’m talking in front of you promoting a show.”

He continued, “Super enjoy po ako sa hosting talaga kasi isa ito sa mga skills ko na gusto ko pang mahasa as I go further in the industry.”

For those not in the know, Benedix is a content creator, who has over a hundred thousand subscribers on his YouTube Channel. His being a vlogger, he said, has opened doors of opportunity for him in showbiz.

“I created my own channel kasi pakiramdam ko, doon lang ako makikita sa YouTube. That’s why, I’m grateful for everything that is happening to me now and since I started on the digital platform, parang hindi na rin naging mas mahirap ‘yung transition ko. I realized that I can do more, especially now na ibang klaseng mundo na ‘yung ginagalawan ko,” Benedix added.

Prior to his PBB stint, he joined the Online Bahay ni Kuya campaign on Kumu and ended up as one of the two winners. That’s why, he couldn’t help but reminisce about those days when he was just dreaming to be part of the entertainment scene.

He said, “Maaalala mo na lang talaga ‘yung mga panahon na gusto mong (pumasok sa showbiz) pero paano. Dito sa Bida Star, I will always tell them (contestants) to keep on pushing.”

In Bida Star Versus, aspirants will compete for their clusters of boys and girls until only one emerges as the winner. There will also be a portion called the Live Callbacks, wherein the first batch of male and female auditionees will perform on Kumu. The top earning male and female contestants will get a guaranteed spot in the Top 40.

“Bida Star Versus allows anyone to be part of the contest even if you are not part of any talent agency or you do not have any formal training. Bida Star Versus will help you reach your artista dreams,” said Benedix.

He said the contestants will certainly learn to identify their strengths and weaknesses as the competition begins.

“This platform will really help them know themselves better kung ano pa ‘yung mga kaya nilang gawin. Aside from the fact that this is a competition between boys and girls, ang talagang kalaban d’yan ay mga sarili nila. They must know how to start working for their dream and try their best all the time kahit kinakabahan pa sila,” he further said.

Contestants will have an exciting journey with the judges, which include Star Magic workshop head and acting mentor Rahyan Carlos, PBB unit head Marcus Vinuya and a weekly celebrity guest judge.

The Bida Star Versus grand winner will receive P50,000, an ABS-CBN management contract, a Star Magic workshop scholarship, and appearances and performances on ABS-CBN shows and Pie Channel.
