Is Mark tying the knot anytime soon?
Mark Herras (with girlfriend and fellow Kapuso Nicole Donesa): Hopefully, if that’s the plan of the Lord for me, I think it’s about time na rin. I’m not getting any younger.

Whenever the topic of marriage is brought up, Mark Herras chooses to keep mum. The actor, who is going steady with fellow Kapuso Nicole Donesa, recently topbilled a Magpakailanman’s episode, titled Langit Ka, Lupa Ako, with his girlfriend.

“Hopefully, if that’s the plan of the Lord for me, I think it’s about time na rin. I’m not getting any younger. I’m 32 now, turning 33, in December. Maybe soon but I’d prefer not to talk about it,” said Mark, adding that it sometimes irritates him “whenever I hear other people saying ‘O, sinabi mo na yun before.’ Kung mapapansin ninyo, I don’t really talk about it. I really avoid it na maibalik na naman sa akin. They will find out naman hopefully soon.”

Mark, who is still recovering from the loss of his adoptive parents, realizes that he should start being responsible of his life.

“I’m okay although medyo mahirap lang sa recovering stage,” he shared. “I actually have not mourned properly kasi nga sunud-sunod silang nawala. I cannot say I have fully recovered but it doesn’t mean that I will not recover from it.”

Mark would sometimes ask himself why it had to happen and what’s the reason behind it. Instead of thinking negatively, the actor realized that he has to mature to be able to understand everything. He is now learning to handle his finances and obligations like paying bills.

“At least, natuto ako na kumilos kasi masyado akong na-baby nina Daddy. Now, I really enjoy doing it, naintindihan ko na maraming gastos sa buhay. Unlike before, kasi they would just give me my baon. Although there were few adjustments, (step by step)natuto akong kumilos sa buhay nang maayos. At least, I have work with GMA, I have Nicole, so (I’m) doing good naman,” said Mark, admitting that he is no longer fond of going out because he values every peso he earns.

“Maybe that’s part of being... a Tito of Manila,” smiled Mark while recounting an experience when he went to Tagaytay with his friends and he felt like going home after drinking one-and-a-half bottles of beer.

“Okey na ako dun. Then we had this thanksgiving party at GMA and by 12 midnight, I was already home. It’s a choice,” he added.

Together with other celebrity hunks, Mark recently joined the Aguinaldo’s Cup at Tangulan Arena in Kawit, Cavite. With Mark were Juancho Trivino, Marco Gumabao, Gab Lagman, Joseph Marco, Jason Abalos, Axel Torres, Van Ong, Onyok Velasco, JM Canillas and Ervic Vijandre, who formed the Celebrity Team. They played against Kawit All Stars which won by one point with the final score of 85-84.

Spearheaded by Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo and the SK Federation, Aguinaldo’s Cup is a fundraising event that kicked off with a star-studded exhibition basketball game, proceeds of which will go to the victims of the recent earthquake in Cotabato. The basketball tournament was also participated in by the 23 barangays of Kawit. Ganiel Krishnan and Juancho hosted the event.

“We will donate P1M to the earthquake victims in Cotabato,” confirmed Mayor Angelo. “Aside from the fund-raising, we also asked help from our friends. And with their (celebrity players) help as well, this is going to be a successful event.”

Mayor Angelo explained that since basketball is the country’s favorite pastime, it will be an inviting cause for his constituents to participate in.

He said, “We know that the youth’s involvement in sports can be one of the great deterrents to crime and drugs. We want the youth of Kawit to be engaged in more productive activities like this.”
