No ‘third wheel’ between Sam & Yassi

What really is the difference between a “third party” and a “third wheel?”

Yassi Pressman claimed to know the answer.

“A ‘third party’ is a kabit (mistress) if she happens to be a woman,” explained Yassi who doesn’t know what to call a male “third party,” “while a ‘third wheel’ is somebody, either male of female, who plays a role between sweethearts, just like a hanger-on, dakilang sabit.”

Yassi’s explanation is based on the character she’s playing in Viva Films’ Ang Pambansang Third Wheel, as Tina, a girl who always falls for the wrong guy, three of whom have broken her heart. Her leading man, Sam Milby, plays Neo whom Tina meets, making her think that she has finally hit the jackpot only to find out that Neo has a son (Alonzo Muhlach) with another woman (Sam Pinto).

Both fancy-free (and have never been either a “third wheel” or a “third party”), if and when in real life Sam and Yassi become an item, they would make sure that there wouldn’t be any “third wheel” or “third party” between them. Sam has broken up with his model-girlfriend of two years.

“I’m not looking for a girlfriend anymore,” said Sam, 34. “I’m not looking for something to waste my time on. Whoever comes next in life, she will be The One. For ever na siya.”

Meanwhile, Yassi is focused on her career, not allowing love to get in the way, not now anyway.
