Why Liza Diño, Aiza not yet ready for government post

Joyce Jimenez - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – Liza Diño believes that she and husband Aiza Seguerra cannot accept a government post unless they’re done with their plans for their personal lives.

There have been reports that a post for the National Commission for the Culture and Arts was offered to Aiza under the Duterte administration, which the singer-actress denied.

“We have our own plans and I don't think makakatulong kami sa gobyerno kung mayro’n kaming mga pansariling plano sa buhay,” she said in an interview on Wednesday, before the press conference of "Ringgo the Dog Shooter.”

The “personal plans” that Liza is talking about is their plan to have a baby. In October, they’ll be leaving for U.S.A. to finally undergo the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure.

“I will be the surrogate, and it's Aiza's eggs,” she said about the procedure. “We're getting an anonymous sperm donor and then ako ang mag-surrogate.”

Liza admitted there were people who approached them to present their proposed reforms to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.

However, she said that “we want to recommend the right people for it. We want to recommend people who are really interested right now to serve. Kami siguro right now lobbyist.”

Although they’re not ready, she affirmed seeing her husband “leaning towards politics.” But she would recommend that “he go through the ranks first."

"Gusto ko na i-try it out muna. Hirap kasi na basta isasalpak ka,” said Liza.

“I know na mayro'n siyang leaning towards that and I will support it,” she concluded.
