The 24 UAAP 77th Season Hotties

The 77th season of the UAAP, hosted by the University of the East, opened last July 12 and now into its second round action of competitions at Araneta Coliseum and MOA Arena.

Funfare’s “hardcourt correspondent” Nap Gutierrez said that the first-round “toppers” were National University, Ateneo de Manila University, Far Eastern University, De La Salle and UST, with UE not too far behind.

Said Nap, “Familiar names have remained as the idols of UAAP followers, still the collegiate heartthrobs and sought-after cagers. We call them ‘The UAAP Hotties’ — Ateneo’s Kiefer Ravena (who leads the race for the league MVP after the first round), Jeron Teng of De La Salle, Kevin Ferrer of UST, Gelo Alolino of NU, Roi Sumang of UE, and Ryan Monteclaro of Adamson.”

They are good-looking and excellent players, most of them now product endorsers, with Jeron (PLDT, Gatsby, McDonald’s, Nike and Bench) and Kiefer (Jollibee, LG3 phones, Nike, Jamba Juice and Isuzu with rumored girlfriend Mika Reyes) having the most number of endorsements.

Among last year’s “hotties” were Terrence Romeo (now with Global Port in the PBA), RR Garcia (now with Barako Bull in the PBA) and Jeric Teng (now with Rain or Shine in the PBA).
