Edna Luna: Brown beauty of the '50s

Edna Luna is best remembered as the original Dyesebel (1953), but she also starred in several memorable movies, among them Sa Kabila ng Bukas (1954) opposite Jose Padilla Jr.

Edna — petite, brown and beautiful —antedated the Brown Cinderella, Superstar Nora Aunor, by almost two decades.

Her other films include Pedro Penduko, Kamay ni Kain, Bakya Mo Neneng and Banga ni Zimador (all directed by Gerry de Leon, just like Dyesebel), Cinco Hermanas, Obra Maestra, Anak ng Lasengga.

Edna is a longtime Las Vegas resident.  — RKC
