1st Fun Run in Cebu set April 10

- Lemuel P. Maglinte -

CEBU, Philippines - Seeing running as a means for promoting health and saving mother nature, C 24/7 Natura-Ceuticals is staging its own run for cause dubbed as "1st Fun-Run in Cebu 2011" on April 10 at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

Assuring that it is not a marketing strategy, the organizers said this run will be more on helping their beneficiaries which are the poor families and street children of Barangay Inayawan and Pardo and also to support the Tree planting program of PNP Central Visayas.

The race will feature 3-kilometer, 5K and 10k categories.

"We have no choice to raise funds and we see that organizing a fun run is a good way to raise funds for the poor families and helping PNP in their vision to save our nature," said Rosevella Sultanes of Nature-Ceuticals during the press conference yesterday at the Yayoy's Grill and Resto Bar.

Aside from delegations from PNP, the organizers are also expecting to draw up to 2,000 runners from Philippine Airforce, Philippine Navy and some out-of-town runners from Bacolod and Davao.

Cash prizes and scholarship certificates awaits the top placers in each category.

Registration fee is pegged at P300. Entry forms are available at RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu, Columbia and Cebu City Sports Commission's office in Cebu City Sports Center.

The race is co-presented by Ayala Center Cebu, PNP PRO-7, Pinoy Yellow Army and Metrografix and Summit Natural Drinking Water.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
