3rd Olango Challenge slated on April 24

-

CEBU, Philippines - The third edition of the Olango Challenge is set on April 24 at the Tambuli Beach Club. The event will feature shorter courses this time with hopes that more individiduals will be enticed to compete in open water.

From six kilometers last year, the organizing Philippine Business for Social Progress and the sanctioning Philippine Aquatic Sports Association (PASA) have decided to trim the race categories into 1.5km and 3km.

The funds generated by the organizers out of the race last year were given away to help finance livelihood programs and build more classrooms in Olango.

It is open to all interested swimmers aged at least 14 years old.

Fun swimmers may use fins, provided that they have not joined national competitions in the past.

Cash prizes are at stake for the top performers in both the competitive and fun divisions. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
