RTC metes man 16 years imprisonment for shabu

-
With the elections approaching fever pitch, I just can't help being amused with some politician's antics. While the Ilonggos are trying to dispel the "Tikalon" (hambugero) tag, here comes my dad's good friend Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez' statement that he will give P 10,000.00 to every Barangay captain in Iloilo City who will deliver a 12-0 victory for Team Unity. Tito Raul said there's nothing wrong with his being generous after all the money will come from his own pocket. "Naga awas na sa iyang bulsa." Well, Tito Raul must still be thinking of the good old days when "ang kwarta sa Iloilo kag Bacolod "ginapiko kag ginapala". Some Ilonggo customers at Casa Ilongga said "Daw nahuya (ashamed) kami sa ginapang hambog ni Gonzales." I'm sure Bidoy Aldeguer, Sammy Gello-ani, Ben Yapjoco, and John Pages do not agree being called "tikalon" indi bala? I'll be asking ten thousand from Tito Raul to buy a few pairs of shoes for my runners. Chicken feed.
Singer
I've been invited several times to run for the City Council but I declined every time. You see I've been running all my life, along the streets that is. Besides sports my other passion is of course music In fact I can't wait for June when Chad and Jeremy together with the Association arrive in the Philippines. Chad and Jeremy made the hits "Before and After," Summer Song", "Distant Shores", "Everyone's Gone to the Moon" and a lot more. On the other hand, The Association will render the still popular "Cherish", "Never my Love" and "Windy". And did you know that one of the lead singers of the Association is half Filipino? Yes, his name is Larry Ramos. Now back to politics, it seemed a suspended Mandaue City engineer has beaten us to our projected concert come August. If you don't know Dr. Bernard "Elvis" Pino, Sam Costanilla, Dr. Warfe Engracia, conductor Doy Montana and yours truly are staging the "Elvistival", a tribute to Elvis Presley with 10 Elvis impersonators. However Engr. Alfredo Sanchez has already started singing to the tune that he was forced by Mayor Teddy Ouano to sign a different document on the controversial lamppost deal that led to has suspension together with the two mayors and several Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu City officials. I bet Mayor Ouano does not like his music. If ever these people get indicted, they could always join us when we render "Jailhouse Rock", well it's one for the money.
The Heat claims two
No I'm not talking about the Miami Heat in the NBA who are on the verge of getting gored out of the play offs by the Chicago Bulls, I'm referring to the terrible heat in Koronadal City in Cotabato where two people died of heat stroke. (as I write this column the Heat trails Chicago 0-3). The scorching heat that reportedly hovered near 39 degrees Celsius also knocked out several athletes. I was told the swimming pool was "boiling hot" grabe gyud diay ang init echoed J Chow Caltex Petroleum Service Center personnel Meriam Isoto, Delson Perez, Joel Castro, Geraldine Juros, Jose Jemini Lao, Maui Gomez and former USJR trackster Racel Genegobis. Thanks also to Macky. The station never fails to provide us with me coins which we use at Casa Ilongga Robinsons Place. I promised to treat them to a bowl of steaming "hot" Lapaz Batchoy just like in Koronadal, an Ilonggo country where the delicacy is popular.
Running Judge
Recently bumped into former Cebu Executive Runners Club president Gabby Ingles who is now RTC judge. Gabby is a bit over weight after avoiding the pavement for six months. Well, Gabby has not been running since he injured his Achilles tendon and even needed crutches to walk around. With Gabby in sick bay, we will be missing the Sandugo Run in Bohol this year. But with the heel a lot better, Gabby intends to start getting back into shape with brisk walking at the complex. It was a good thing Gabby decided to return to running as we were all set to hang… his sneakers. After finding him guilty of non-running, we were thinking of sentencing him to "reclusion perpetua" or by cutting his leg. Welcome back buddy!
