Makinano rules Manaloto chess event

-
FIDE Master Anthony Makinano added another trophy to his collection after winning the Manaloto Saniel Active Chess Tournament at Bibo Chess Club.

Makinano may have ended with a draw with Adonis Buenaventura in the seventh and final round but it did not hamper his bid for the title after tallying a total of six points.

Buenaventura, for his part, ended second even as he got tied with 5.5 points total with three others via 24 tie break points.

Richard Natividad placed third after defeating Joel Pacuribot on a Sicilian defense in the last round and Erwin Ababat was fourth after outsmarting Carlos Moreno III.

The fifth to seventh placers were Nelman Lagutin, Leonardo Alidani and Carlo Maraat.-Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
