September 27, 2006 | 12:00am
Leaving the agony of defeat, the Arthro-Skygo Tribu Sugbu will depart for Valencia City, Bukidnon tonight in pursuit for a possible road victory in the 2006 National Basketball Conference (NBC) National Cup at the Valencia City gym.
Hoping to bounce back from a 70-75 loss against Tagaytay Spring last Thursday at the Talisay City Sports Complex, coach Al Solis and his wards bring along with them an ounce of courage as they try to hurdle another tough obstacle ahead.
Going into their September 29 duel, Tribu Sugbu ang Valencia have one thing in common - they both fell prey at the hands of Tagaytay Spring.
Hence, the two protagonists are expected to lay out their aces to break into the win column and avoid plunging into the cellar.
For the Tribu Sugbu cagers, they have to win against Valencia so as to gain the needed morale-booster heading into a collision with the North Cotabato Braves the following day.
Aside from Joseph Ronald Quiñahan, Tribu Sugbu is also expected to squeeze the most from 6-9 beanpole Don Yabut, Randy Sevilla, and Nyok de Guzman at the center.
Solis will be banking on Ronaldo Bucao and last year's CESAFI MVP Mark Ababon at the backcourt, while Joel Co, Doroteo Almacin, Jerome Gadiane and Gaylord Santos will be commissioned to take charge of their outside shooting.
