Minglanilla breaks ground new government center
CEBU, Philippines — Minglanilla Mayor Rajiv Enad has led the groundbreaking of the new government center which will be home to the four-storey new municipal hall.
The center will have ample parking spaces, and can accommodate all the local government offices. Currently, the municipal government offices are housed in the existing municipal hall with limited spaces.
“An Abante Minglanilla campaign promise slowly coming to life, the government center will undoubtedly raise the bar for excellence in governance of Minglanilla, and will usher in a new era of convenience and comfort for Minglanillahanons doing transactions with the local government,” said Enad in his official Facebook post.
Together with the mayor during the groundbreaking were Vice Mayor Lani Peña and Councilors Jenifer Lariosa and Jerry Cañares.
The mayor also recently broke ground for the second phase of the construction of a two-storey 12 classrooms building of the Minglanilla Central School.
The school building project worth P12 million is the second phase of an adjacent building which was also funded by the municipal government.
“With Mayor Rajiv's commitment to giving the youth a better and brighter tomorrow, upgrading and improving infrastructure facilities in school can lead to effective learning of each student since this will avoid overcrowding in classrooms,” read the mayor’s Facebook post.
Also, to address the risk of perennial flooding in the town, the mayor led the inauguration of the 1,800 meter drainage which crosses barangays Tulay and Tunghaan.
According to the mayor, this drainage is seen to help unclog the flooding problem in the area, especially in Springwoods Subdivision.
Furthermore, the skywalk in Lipata, the only skywalk in Minglanilla, will soon be getting a repair and facelift.
New roofing, lights, and other needs will be installed next week, with the private company Converge taking care of the financial requirements.
The repair project is expected to be completed by end of August at no cost to the government.
“We at the Minglanilla Municipal Government are grateful for this sense of cooperation and community upliftment that Converge is showing for Minglanilla. We commend their collaborative spirit, which will benefit our beloved Minglanilla,” the mayor said.
