4 nabbed in separate anti-drug operations
CEBU, Philippines — A high-value drug target and his two alleged cohorts were arrested by members of the Cebu Police Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) in a buy-bust operation at Sitio Curba, Barangay San Vicente, Liloan, Cebu midnight of October 18.
PIU Chief Randy Korret identified the subject of the operation as Romel Saramosing Pepito, 25, resident of Sitio Curba.
Arrested with him were his two cohorts identified as Jefrey Cahambing Flodelis, 42, and Dennis Dave Sabellano Sarmiento, 31. Both are listed in the provincial database.
Seized from the suspects were 20 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of P136,000 and a .45 caliber pistol with magazine.
"Dati na ding nakulong yan (Pepito). Yon ang sabi nya, sa illegal drugs, bago lang din sya nakalaya," said Korret.
Korret added Pepito's transactions are made through communications over mobile phones. During the operation, his cohorts were spotted buying illegal drugs from him.
The arrested suspects are temporarily detained at the Lilo-an Municipal custodial facility while charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 under Article II of RA 9165 and RA 10591 are being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, another buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Labangon Police Sunday afternoon on Spolarium Street, Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City yielded at least 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000.
The suspect was identified as Christian Escabas Omayao, 18. — GAN (FREEMAN)
