North-bound jeepneys can't use APM Mall yet

Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – North-bound passenger jeepneys could not use the APM Mall yet as drop-off and pickup point because of the needed adjustment in the infrastructure.

Romeo Armamento, vice president of the National Confederation of Transportworkers' Union-Central Visayas, said that the elevation of pedestrian lane leading to the mall's drop-off point is too high for PUJs to pass through.

"Taas ra gyud ang agi-anan padung sa entrance kanang naay pedestrian lane. Unya mananghid pa ta ana sa Cebu City government nga paubsan ang agi-anan aron maka agi ang mga jeep," said Armamento.

He said the Cebu City Transportation Office needs to ask permission from the city government to lower the elevation.

There are around 500 jeepneys plying the Consolacion, Compostela, Liloan, Danao, Carmen and Lapulapu City routes that are expected to use the area for free. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
