Police arrest "pusher" in Bogo
CEBU, Philippines – The son of the chief security officer of Bogo was arrested Tuesday evening by the joint operatives of the local police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7.
Nicholas Anthony Yee, 38, resident of Barangay Taytayan, Bogo City, was placed under arrest after law enforcers found five small packs and one medium pack of shabu worth P11,500 from his residence.
The police also recovered 20 pieces of tin foil, eight pieces plastic pack with shabu residue, disposable lighter, mobile phone and P3,690 cash.
The joint police operatives of Bogo and the CIDG-7 swooped down the house of Yee at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday based on the search warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Soliver Peras.
The raid was witnessed by the suspect's father, Restituto, and a representative of the Department of Justice.
Chief Inspector Fermin Armendares, CIDG-7 detachment chief in Bogo, said they received information about the alleged illegal drug trade of Yee prompting them to con-duct surveillance operation.
Armendares said they were able to validate the information by conducting a test buy. An undercover police operative bought a pack of shabu from the suspect which they used as evidence to secure a search warrant from the court against Yee.
Armendares however said that Yee is just a small time pusher in the place. "Street vending ra man ni iya," he added.
Yee will be charged for violation of Section 11 of RA 9165. (FREEMAN)
