3 more join barangay polls in Talisay

CEBU, Philippines – With a week more to go before the last day of filing of certificates of candidacy (COC), three more candidates for barangay chairmen and 30 for barangay councilmen filed their COCs at the Talisay City Commission on Elections (Comelec) for the October 25 barangay elections.

These candidates for village chief are Buenaventura Pelonio of Lawaan 2 and Antonio Abatayo Sr. of the upland Candulawan.

Luciano Cabingatan Jr. of Barangay Camp 4 was the first one to file for the same position last Monday, together with his whole slate.

Pelonio also submitted his duly notarized COC together with his seven council members.

Abatayo, meanwhile, is an independent candidate. The last day of filing for the COC is October 13. (FREEMAN)
