Woman stabbed by her brother

CEBU, Philippines - A forty-year-old woman was stabbed by her younger brother last April 17 in barangay Babag II, Lapu-Lapu City allegedly after an argument.

 Police identified the victim as Marites Berdin, a resident of the said place and the suspect as Ramil Berdin, 35.

Investigation revealed that the two had an argument regarding personal matters and parted ways, but later the suspect and a certain “Dante” came back to settle the issue.

But the argument worsened and the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife, she was immediately rushed to the to Lapu-Lapu District Hospital but later transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The suspect was also taken to VSMMC after he was mauled by neighbors who learned what had happened to Marites, he is now under arrest. — Mark Z. Gantuangco, CNU Masscom intern/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
