Ronda farmer, his minor son arrested for gun possession
Police arrested a 65-year-old farmer and his 17-year-old son from barangay Langin, Ronda town on Sunday for alleged illegal possession of firearms.

The police got earlier reports alleging that the Alveros have a cache of assorted firearms such as M16 armalite rifles, M14 rifle, .45 caliber pistol, and .357 caliber revolvers.
Vaño’s team was accompanied by barangay councilman Pio Sardelia and tanod David Alcasaren but when they arrived at the Alvero house, the guns stated on the warrant were not the same as those they actually found.
They only found and seized a homemade 5.56 caliber Frontier revolver, an improvised shotgun with magazine, five live 12-gauge shotgun ammunitions, nine live 5.56 caliber bullets, and a .38 caliber cartridge.
After his arrest, Huber admitted to reporters that he owned the guns but he denied brandishing these to their neighbors. He said that he bought these guns from a friend who he said died already a few months ago.
Huber said his family had to possess the guns for their protection because there were people who have been angry at them about the farmland that they have been tending.
He said that, last January 20, unidentified gunmen sprayed bullets to their house, for
which nobody was hurt anyway, and he suspected that it had something to do with the disputed farmland.
