Housemaid stabbed to death inside toilet

A housemaid was found stabbed to death inside the toilet of her employer’s house in Consolacion Saturday evening.

The victim, Mercy Sirangoy who hailed from Gihulngan in Negros Oriental, had six stab wounds in her body and was already bathed with her own blood when found at around 8 p.m.

Sirangoy was rushed to the Cortes General Hospital in Mandaue City but physician, Dr. Andresita Tan, declared her dead on arrival.

PO3 Allan Maglangit told The  Freeman yesterday afternoon that Sirangoy’s body will be autopsied to determine if she was raped before she was stabbed.

Police report stated no suspects yet but investigators found two kitchen knives from the crime scene. One of the knives was eight inches long and bloodstained indicating that it was used in attacking Sirangoy.

Meanwhile, in sitio Pangdan in barangay Cambanay, Danao City, a 14-year-old girl was shot and wounded by a still unidentified man at a public disco yesterday dawn.

The victim, a resident of the barangay, was hit in her left ear with the bullet exiting the right side of her face. She was immediately taken to the Danao City District Hospital but was later moved to one of the hospitals in Cebu City.

Danao City Police Station desk officer SPO4 Teofilo Deguilmo told The Freeman that the girl was sitting along with a friend on a bench inside the disco when a man came up and shot her without any provocation.
