Feast Day Of Padre Pio Of Pietrelcina

-

CEBU, Philippines - The 7th Feast day of God’s humble servant Padre Pio de Pietrelcina is fast approaching. As part of the activity to commemorate his feast day, the contemplative community would like to invite the faithful and devotees to attend the novena at the Blessed Pedro Calungsod Shrine. The novena started last September 14 and will last until September 22. All devotees are encouraged to bring their friends and relatives, especially the sick, for the entire novena and during the feast day Pontifical Mass.

The Pontifical Mass will be officiated by our beloved Archbishop of Cebu, His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal, at the Sacred Heart Parish Church in D. Jakosalem Street on September 23 at exactly 6 o’clock in the afternoon.

Padre Pio is the first stigmatized priest in the history of the Catholic Church. On September 20, 1918, the five wounds of our Lord’s passion appeared on his body. Padre Pio’s life was marked by long hours of prayer and continual austerity characterized by over half a century of intense suffering and apostolic activity in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy.

Countless numbers were attracted to his confessional and many have received his saintly and spiritual guidance. Many miracles and healings have been attributed to his intercession.

For more inquiries, please contact the Padre Pio Contemplative Community of Cebu (SPCCC) through either of these numbers 09173254669 or 09206399953.
