INTO THE SCENE - Han Kintanar () - November 29, 2007 - 12:00am

GSE TEAM OF DISTRICT 3860. The Rotary Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team of District 3860 invaded and conquered District 7600 Virginia U.S.A., and they’re back! The team leader, Me’anne Alcordo-Solomon suggested that I look at the website of District 7600 and the other Rotary Clubs in the said district. And so I did...

I found the Virginia Rotarians declaring that “the D3860 GSE Team

was the best GSE team they ever hosted. They were true ambassadors of goodwill not only promoting D3860 and their sponsoring clubs but also their cities in the Philippines.”

In their one month stay in Virginia, the team was hosted by Rotarian families where they lived the American way of life, had vocational visits with occasional historical and educational tours, and most of all, immersed themselves in their own advocacies. In the next couple of weeks, Into the Scene will feature some highlights of the experiences of the Cebu based members : hotelier Kaye Luym, pediatric dentist Christine Tio and RC Cebu Fuente past president Me’anne Alcordo-Solomon. Welcome back!

NEW MEMO BOUTIQUE OPENS AT AYALA. MEMO, known to the fashion world as the brand which produces current and stylish yet not trendy RTW line, recently unveiled another modern-luxe design store, with rich textures and lifestyle setting at the Ayala Center Cebu. Making it the 21st  boutique of MEMO . Another one is at the SM City Cebu and the others are strategically located in major malls in Metro Manila and key provincial cities .

Striving to maintain their upscale brand image with sophisticated style and product quality at a level equal to those of foreign brands, thus making people think that MEMO is a foreign and expensive brand. I wasn’t spared with that notion not until my first MEMO visit recently for the said boutique’s opening. Well, see for yourselves!
