Dennis Trillo on falling for his leading ladies

- Ricky L. Calderon -

GMA 7 held the  presscon of   “Lovebug”  aboard a yacht that sailed around Manila Bay on Tuesday night.

Directed by Mark Reyes, “Lovebug” marks the first teamup of Carla Abellana and Dennis Trillo, who were asked during the presscon if sparks flew between them while they were taping the series onboard a cruise ship in Hong Kong. They were also asked about their much-talked about kissing scene.

“Siyempre memorable iyon kasi first time saka love story ito eh,” said Carla. “First time ko rin to do a kissing scene with Dennis. Siyempre memorable iyon kasi napakalamig. It was very cold in the evening. Nasa ship kami, nakasuot ako ng formal dress na medyo manipis kaya ginaw na ginaw kami. That was past midnight already. Memorable naman saka maganda ang eksena.”

Wasn’t Dennis’ kiss enough to ignite heat amidst the cold evening? “It was really very cold,” simply added Carla.

When Dennis was also asked for a comment, the actor agreed that the night was really so cold and the “scene” could have possibly generated more heat if he had a longer time to embrace Carla. But the scene only required for a kiss and a short hug and nothing more than that.

On the same night, the press told Dennis Trillo that they liked the idea of Dennis being vocal about his relationship with actress Jennylyn Mercado. Dennis is known to be very secretive when it comes to matters of the heart, but apparently not with Jennylyn. Most of the time, the press would only get to know of Dennis’ romantic escapades once he and the girl would part ways.

The actor admitted during the one-on-one interview that he’s very happy with his relationship with Jennylyn, and it’s pretty obvious that he is happy indeed, otherwise he would not be this open and would not practically tell the whole world how happy he is right now with his growing romance with Jennylyn.

Besides, he has said that his relationship with Jen is now serving as his inspiration to be focused on his career and to do better in his craft.

When asked if there was any chance at all that he’d fall in love with Carla had there been no Jennylyn is his life, Dennis said that it’s impossible not to fall for someone like Carla who is both beautiful and talented. “She has many good qualities that you’d find endearing and loving. I am speaking on behalf of other guys, and not necessarily for myself, but it is not hard for someone to fall for Carla,” admitted Dennis.

When told that he seems to have a habit of falling in love with his leading ladies, he said that what happened in the past were merely a coincidence. (Apart from Jennylyn Mercado, he was also romantically linked to Angel Locsin and Heart Evangelista, who were his leading ladies in previous TV and movie projects.)

“Hindi naman po lahat. Nagkakataon lang talaga,” said the best supporting actor awardee of the 7th Golden Screen Awards for Mano Po 6.

“Lovebug’s The First Romance” premieres on Sunday, right after Party Pilipinas.
