-

Ayala Center Cebu kicks off celebration of the 28th Sinulog Festival this Friday, January 18, with music and dances at the 5th Pahugyaw sa Sayaw, a grand dance festival.

The event will start off with a parade this evening inside the mall at 8pm, featuring dance numbers of the different festivities such as Palawod of Bantayan Island, Caranza festival of Danao, Siloy festival of Alcoy, Mantawi festival of Mandanue and Tribu Basacanon of Basak.  Contingents from as far as Surigao will also participate in the said event.

After the parade, grand performances will be held at the South Surface Parking of Ayala Center Cebu.

There will be more fun, music and partying as Cebu-based alterna-pop band S.R.O performs after the dance festival and the night’s event will be capped off with fireworks display.

Shoppers, guests and balikbayans are also invited to participate in the on-going activities and events at the Ayala Center Cebu, starting off with the Sto. Nino Exhibit at the 2nd Floor, Exhibit Area 2 (in between Kamiseta and Celine shops) of Ayala Center Cebu, and Balik Cebu Booth, which was formally opened last January 14, located at level 1, Paseo Marina of Ayala Center.

The Balik Cebu Booth is open during mall hours and serves as an information booth for balikbayans who need event guides for this year’s Sinulog festival. Discounted grandstand passes for the Sinulog mardi gras are also available for balikbayans.
