Cogie Domingo's dad to sue Gil Portes
The family of young actor Cogie Domingo is part-owner of the One Greenhills Shopping Place. The place is the newest tiangge haven in the Greenhills area on Eisenhower Street in San Juan, Metro Manila. It was his father Atty Rod Domingo who convinced him (Cogie) to invest in a business since a job in showbiz is not permanent. One Greenhills Plaza opens on January 12. Since Cogie is fond of car gadgets, this is what he plans to sell in his stall.

Atty. Domingo is planning to sue Director Gil Portes. It was Direk Gil's group who produced "Mourning Girls," one of the official entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival last year. Cogie's mom, Zeny Domingo invested P3 M into the movie after she was enticed by Direk Gil to venture into film production.

He says that his wife was not able to recoup her investment. Atty. Domingo is disappointed because Direk Gil did not fulfill his promise of paying her wife the amount she invested in the movie. It's been one year since then but Mrs. Domingo hasn't received a single centavo.

Atty. Domingo is just waiting for the holidays to be over before he files a case against the director. He's going to send Direk Gil a demand letter and if he still doesn't pay, he will file civil and criminal case (estafa) against the director. Atty. Domingo also learned that the cast and crew of "Mourning Girls" remain unpaid to this day. He is willing to help them seek payment if they would ask for his help.

Cogie is supporting his dad on his plan to sue the erring director of "Mourning Girls." He was one of the stars of the movie and together with his co-stars namely Assunta de Rossi, Glydel Mercado, Chin Chin Gutierrez, Juliana Palermo and Ricky Davao, he has yet to get full payment for his services.

Atty. Domingo also plans to seek a hold departure order against Direk Gil Portes at the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation, which he did when Gil Portes and his group left for Spain to shoot Barcelona. If not for the intervention of Director Joel Lamangan who appealed on behalf of his friend, Portes would not have been able to leave for Barcelona. Atty. Domingo heeded Direk Joel's appeal. But Cogie's dad is deadset on taking redress for his wife since it's been a year since his wife lost money, which sent her packing her bags to go to the States after depressed over what happened.

He also learned that Direk Gil was able to sell Mourning Girls to the international market but did not give a share to his wife, who also didn't receive a single cent from the cash incentive given by the MMDA and Malacanang to all the entries to the 2005 Metro Manila film Festival.

Cogie's dad used the word "deceit" to describe what Direk Gil to his wife, who now resides in the States, traumatized by the unsuccessful partnership she had with the director.
