Volkswagen Club Sugbo
The Volkswagen Club Sugbo (VWCS) is an organization geared to promote camaraderie amongst Volkswagen enthusiasts, sharing knowledge on VW maintenance, restoration and the sourcing of parts. The club started in 1997 with Atty. Aven Piramide as founding president. Over 400 members attended the first gathering that was held in Padi’s Point located at the heart of the Cebu Business Park.
Since then, the club has shrunk into 150 active members. Lead by its current president, Sebastian Seno, the club has done outreach programs for the community, swap meets, Bug runs (Caravan fun-run), Tree planting activities and sports festivals.
The club’s notable collection of restored Volkswagens include the 63’ Custom Beetle of Sebastian Seno, the 73’GT Beetle of Byron Piramide, a 66’ Karmann Ghia, painstakingly restored by Ed Toledo, Jonathan Polo’s Custom 71 Beetle, a 62 13-window Type 2 Safari Bus owned by Jay Anzano, to name a few.
